Amyrus

Amyrus is the Sarcascan Underworld, where the dead go after they die.  Amyrus is divided into several areas: Salernis Castle, the Golden Palace of Arcium, Arcantova Village, and the Byzonis Abyss, which also has a subdivision known as Malernaia. More mortals have seen parts of Amyrus than Escium. There are physical entrances to the Underwold located throughout the continent and several adventurers and heroes have come here for one reason or another.

Salernis Castle

Salernis Castle is the home and stronghold of Rasthor, the god of death.  He also holds court here, where he passes judgment on every soul that passes through.  The castle is made of black basalt and is of gothic design.  Any soul that is not tossed into the Byzonis Abyss who wishes to speak with Rasthor can also meet with him here.

The Golden Palace of Arcium

The Golden Palace of Arcium, or Arcium for short, is the resting place of great heroes.  Those who performed noble and heroic deeds come here after death, if Rasthor determines that they are worthy of such a reward.  Its concept is like a combination of the Elysian Fields and Valhalla.

Arcantova Village

Arcantova Village, or Arcantova for short, is the resting place of those who lead decent, but uneventful lives.  This is where your average person goes after death.  It has the appearance of a simple, but peaceful village.

The Byzonis Abyss

The Byzonis Abyss, or the Abyss for short, is where Rasthor sends those who were wicked in life.  The opening, which appears only when Rasthor has need of it, has the appearance of a bottomless hole wreathed with flames.  The Abyss itself is a barren wasteland inhabited by horrific creatures.  Every evil soul is subject to daily punishment of almost unimaginable agony, but when not enduring this torture they can be found roaming the land.  In the center of the Byzonis Abyss is another seemingly bottomless hole wreathed in flame.  This leads farther down into the Abyss, which has several such layers.  The more evil the individual, the farther down they are kept.  In the deepest part of the Abyss is an area known as Malernaia.

Malernaia

Located in the deepest, darkest depths of the Byzonis Abyss, Malernaia is a nightmare among nightmares.  No souls inhabit this area, but it is filled with horrible monsters.  Also in this area is the Oblivion Labyrinth.  Little is known about this twisted place.  It is believed that, on extremely rare occasion, when a hero has died before his time, Rasthor will use the Labyrinth as a test and if the hero succeeds he earns a second chance at life.  Rasthor rarely ever offers this test, as there must be an extremely good reason for the dead to be restored (it often requires an appeal from another god as well).  Exactly what lies within the Labyrinth is unknown.
